Vin d'Orange DIY Aperitif

Vin d'orange is a classic Provencal aperitif that blends wine with bitter Seville oranges. Here's how you can make it yourself:

Ingredients:

  • 2 bottles of rosé wine
  • 250ml vodka
  • 150g sugar
  • 3 Seville oranges
  • 1 sweet orange
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Instructions:

  • Combine the rosé wine, vodka, and sugar in a large glass jar.
  • Cut the Seville oranges, sweet orange, and lemon into pieces and add them to the jar with a cinnamon stick.
  • Cover the jar and stir until the sugar has dissolved.
  • Store the jar in a cool, dark place for a month, shaking it every few days.
  • Use a mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth to strain the wine into clean bottles, and seal the bottles tightly with a cork.
  • Store the bottles in a refrigerator or cool, dark place until you're ready to enjoy your homemade Vin d'Orange.
